‘To be honest’: Jeff Stelling can only see one result for Chelsea vs Liverpool
Chelsea’s final match before the October international break comes on Saturday evening at home to Liverpool in the Premier League.
Chelsea host Liverpool in the upcoming fixture, which has become extra important because of their recent form. The Blues recorded defeats to Brighton and Manchester United in their previous two league matches, so it would be a huge blow to lose a third game in a row.

Even though Arne Slot’s Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker for their trip to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s injury list is considerably worse.
Blues manager Enzo Maresca will need to come up with a makeshift defence because the likes of Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo and Trevoh Chalobah are unavailable. On top of that, they are missing the attacking firepower of Cole Palmer and Liam Delap.

Jeff Stelling predicts Chelsea vs Liverpool
According to Jeff Stelling, Chelsea will be too vulnerable at the back to cope with visitors Liverpool this weekend. He’s gone with an away win at Stamford Bridge in his weekly Premier League predictions.
Stelling told talkSPORT: “Chelsea welcome league leaders Liverpool to Stamford Bridge. Liverpool needing to bounce back from defeat on their last visit to the capital when they went down to Crystal Palace. They have to do so after a long haul in midweek to Galatasaray in Turkey.
“To be honest though, Chelsea’s defence is so vulnerable and so fragile. I can only see an away win. I’m going Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool.”
Similarly, Peter Crouch tips Liverpool to win away at Chelsea in the most glamorous Premier League fixture of the weekend.
The Blues have lost three of their previous four meetings against Liverpool across all competitions. However, Chelsea secured a 3-1 win in the previous game between the English giants back in May.

Chelsea must be wary of Virgil van Dijk
While Chelsea will need to be guarded against Liverpool’s talented crop of attackers this weekend, towering defender Virgil van Dijk is someone they must be ready for as well.
Van Dijk, 34, has scored two goals in his previous three appearances against Chelsea; both were headers from corners.
The centre-half will provide a huge attacking threat from any Liverpool set pieces. Therefore, it is very worrying that some of the best Blues players in the air are unavailable, including Delap and Tosin.
We’ve seen Maresca’s side look a major attacking threat from set pieces this season, but they could have their work cut out as a defensive unit on Saturday.
