Enzo Maresca shares the area where Alejandro Garnacho was 'not good' upon Chelsea arrival
Enzo Maresca had one concern about Alejandro Garnacho when he arrived at Chelsea in the summer.
Chelsea signed Garnacho from Manchester United at the end of the last transfer window, and the winger is now starting to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
He scored in the Blues’ Champions League tie with Qarabag during the week before providing two assists against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Alan Smith thought Garnacho was confident in the Wolves game, but it has taken some work to get the 21-year-old back at the right level.

Alejandro Garnacho’s physical condition was ‘not good’
According to Maresca, Garnacho was not where he needed to be physically when he first joined Chelsea but he has since shown a lot of improvement in that area.
In his post-match interview after the Wolves win, which has been shared by Chelsea’s official club website, Maresca said: “He [Garnacho] arrived here from another club where he was not training 100 per cent, so his physical condition was not good. Slowly, slowly [we have worked on that] and now it’s better.
“He is doing very well on the ball and is doing well off the ball. He knows that, to play with us, he has to be good on the ball and off the ball. We are very happy with him in this moment.”
The winger did not look like a player who had been struggling with his physical condition on Saturday as he terrorised Wolves’ defence.
James Collins thought Chelsea counter attacked well as Garnacho and Co ran down the wings when they had the opportunity to.
Once Garnacho is at full fitness, it could be bad news for Premier League defenders.

Where else Alejandro Garnacho can improve
Garnacho also needs to do some work on his finishing, but to his credit, it looks like he is already doing that.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Garnacho has been refining his shooting after training sessions at Cobham.
Against Wolves, the Argentina international had three shots and missed one big chance. He also had an xG of around 0.54, according to Sofascore.
All in all, Garnacho can become more clinical and seems to be working on that. Still just 21 years of age, time is on his side.
He could develop into a really good player for Chelsea. The early signs have been positive.
