Champions League winner suggests he wants to become the Chelsea manager after he’s retired from playing
Chelsea are continuing to back Enzo Maresca as the manager of the club, with the Italian still not convincing all corners of the fanbase he is the right man for the job.
Results on the pitch speak for themselves. Since joining in the summer of 2024, Maresca has delivered two trophies to Stamford Bridge, and currently has the Blues in the top four.
This is not enough for all though. Chelsea fans have voiced their frustration about the manager seemingly whenever a result doesn’t go in their favour.
Are you happy with Enzo Maresca as Chelsea manager?
As of now, there are absolutely no plans for Maresca to be replaced, and Chelsea chiefs will be hoping there are plenty more trophies to come with the Italian in charge.

When looking to the future, it is likely when the moment comes that the Blues will follow suit with their transfer policy and bring in a young coach, similar to what they did when they hired Maresca.
This could open up an opportunity for former players to stake their claim, including Thiago Silva, who has made his desire to go into coaching public knowledge.
The Brazilian is loved by Chelsea fans, and has admitted to L’Equipe that he has a desire to manage every side he played for during his illustrious career.
This includes AC Milan and PSG, however it has previously been reported that Chelsea already having a coaching role available for Silva upon his retirement from the game.

Thiago Silva still going strong at 41
Despite being in the twilight of his career, Silva is still a regular in the Fluminense side over in Brazil.
You can choose one Chelsea legend to play in Enzo Maresca’s team today. Who are you picking? 🤔
Imagine this Chelsea team with Didier Drogba! 🔥
He made 25 league appearances in the campaign which has just finished, whilst also featuring in the Copa Sudamericana and Club World Cup.
Silva lined up against Chelsea in the semi-finals of that competition, however he was powerless to deny Joao Pedro from scoring his first two goals for the club.
The relationship between Silva and the club couldn’t be stronger, and after his son, Isago Silva, signed his contract with the Blues, there must be appetite for him to coach him if he makes it at Stamford Bridge too.
