Maresca had reason to be positive, yet the Chelsea boss was in a foul mood after the full-time whistle.

Following his outburst, there has been plenty of speculation about Maresca not seeing eye to eye with the Chelsea board.
However, according to talkSPORT, Chelsea’s owners expect Maresca to pour cold water on that kind of talk and make it clear that there are no issues between him and them or the club’s sporting directors.
The Club World Cup winners face Cardiff City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, meaning that Maresca is scheduled to talk to the media on Monday in his pre-match press conference.

Maresca did have time to praise Alejandro Garnacho and a few others following his side’s win against Everton. Unsurprisingly, though, all of the focus is on what he said about not feeling supported.

It is not quite clear what Maresca meant by his comments. But if the former Leicester City manager feels like he is not getting enough backing from the club, that needs to change.
Maresca has done an amazing job at Chelsea since taking over, winning two trophies last season and finishing fourth in the Premier League table. The Blues cannot afford to lose him. If they do, they will not find a better coach.
Chelsea’s successes in the Club World Cup and Conference League are often downplayed, but when you look at where they were before his arrival, Maresca certainly deserves praise.
