And now he’s broken his silence while speaking on the Prime Video Sport IT YouTube channel.

“Why did you decide to return to Milan?” Shevchenko was asked.

“Because I wasn’t well,” Shevchenko said.

“Did you miss it?” Shevchenko was asked.

“No. I wasn’t right physically at Chelsea. My career at Chelsea went badly because I was never right. I had many physical problems. I thought about changing at that moment. There came a moment when I said: I can’t stay at Chelsea because I can’t get continuity in training, I can’t get continuity in games. I needed to find a place where I can come back, feel good, train well and start playing again at another level.”

Andriy Shevchenko joined Chelsea in what was a £31 million club record move at the time.

However, it didn’t go to plan for the striker. He finished his spell at Chelsea with just 22 goals and 11 assists in 77 appearances.
