Jorrel Hato makes bold season prediction after Chelsea's loss to Everton
Jorrel Hato and Chelsea lost yet again over the weekend after being beaten 3-0 by Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It is the fourth consecutive game that the Blues have now lost, dealing them a blow in the race for Champions League qualification.
Understandably, Chelsea fans are far from happy right now. However, Hato is choosing to remain optimistic.
Jorrel Hato backs Chelsea to still finish in the top four
Following their loss to Everton, Chelsea sit six points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
It is not bad, given their recent form, and Hato is convinced that they could still end up finishing in Villa’s spot or even higher.
In a post-match interview via Chelsea’s official club website, the defender said: “We had a few difficult games in a row so maybe it’s a good time now [to have the international break]. Everyone has the time for themselves to think about how we are going to do it after the break. But I still have a lot of belief in this squad and I think we will reach what we want to reach [this season].
“We are still in the FA Cup, we can still reach what we want in terms of the top four [in the Premier League], so we have to look forward.”

The Club World Cup winners may not even need to finish fourth to qualify for the Champions League. Fifth place is likely to be enough again.
Rivals Liverpool currently occupy that place but have not been in great form either. Arne Slot’s side just lost to Brighton & Hove Albion.
There is no reason why Chelsea cannot overtake them. Their star players are going to have to up their game, though.
For example, Cole Palmer was really disappointing against Everton. If he does not start scoring regularly again, Chelsea are unlikely to accomplish their goals this season.
Chelsea won’t finish in the top four
On paper, a lot of people would agree that Hato and his teammates are better than Villa and Manchester United.
There has also not been much difference between them and Liverpool. However, they have all shown just a little bit more consistency than the Conference League holders.
Time is running out for Chelsea. Their form has dipped at the worst possible time and makes a top-four finish a dream at this rate.
Play as they did against Everton and Newcastle, and there is no way that this Chelsea team will finish fourth or higher, regardless of what Hato has said.
