Wesley Fofana gives injury update after limping off during Chelsea vs Aston Villa
There was an element of concern to go with Chelsea’s dominant win over Aston Villa when Wesley Fofana seemed to limp off late on.
Fofana had been through the wars throughout the game. Twice he went down after blows to the head, surrounding what was an assured performance at the back.
The Frenchman and Trevoh Chalobah continued to prove they were the star pairing for Chelsea in the absence of Levi Colwill, however there was concern when he was replaced late on by Liam Rosenior.
Wesley Fofana says he is not injured despite limping off vs Aston Villa
Given Fofana’s injury history, it is clear why Chelsea fans are concerned at every incident that goes on regarding his fitness, but he eased fears after the game.
Taking to X following the win, Fofana replied to a tweet saying that he limped down the tunnel by saying: “Huh ? I have nothing.”

Even if there is a minor problem, the next game provides the best possible chance for the Blues to rotate at the back. They are set to face Wrexham in the FA Cup.
The likes of Josh Acheampong and Mamadou Sarr will be pushing for a start, with Chelsea’s first XI looking ahead to their biggest games of the season after that.
The Blues will face PSG in the Champions League Round of 16, and with their opponents seeing their league game between the tie postponed, rotation is going to be crucial for Chelsea whenever they get the opportunity.
