What Moises Caicedo now believes amid 'serious interest' from Real Madrid - journalist
Chelsea could soon find themselves in a very delicate situation with Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo is one of Chelsea’s best players so is not someone the club will be thinking about selling any time soon.
With that being said, Caicedo attracted interest from Saudi Arabia last year and now appears to be on Real Madrid’s radar.
Moises Caicedo feels he deserves pay rise as Real Madrid circle
The good news for Chelsea is that Caicedo seems very open to putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Journalist Simon Phillips has shared on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Caicedo wants an improved deal and even believes he deserves one after his performances.
According to Phillips, though, both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are showing “serious interest” in the midfielder.

That could give Caicedo some leverage in contract talks, which are already thought to have begun.
However, his existing deal does not expire until 2031, so it is unlikely that the bosses at Stamford Bridge are panicking right now.
Caicedo features in Chelsea’s almost complete red card XI, so he has not been the most disciplined player this season. Nevertheless, he is not someone Liam Rosenior will be able to cope without.
Chelsea should give Moises Caicedo whatever he wants
Caicedo is irreplaceable. If the 24-year-old has not been the best midfielder in the Premier League this season, he has been the second best behind Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
According to WhoScored, Caicedo is making three tackles per game in the English top flight. It is the third-highest average recorded in the current campaign.
Finding a ball-winner as good as the Ecuadorian to replace him will be virtually impossible. Chelsea simply cannot afford to entertain Real Madrid’s and PSG’s alleged interest.
Whether he signs a new contract or not, though, that is unlikely to happen because of the length of his existing deal. It is not hard to see why Real Madrid and PSG would want Caicedo, but he will not be going anywhere this summer. Still, he has done enough to warrant a pay rise, and Chelsea should do whatever it takes to keep him happy.
