These comments led to a two-match internal suspension, though he recently returned to score the winning goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds.

The Argentine midfielder is currently facing a standoff over contract negotiations, with his camp seeking a significant pay rise to reflect his importance.

And while he remains under contract until 2032, both Manchester City and Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring Fernandez’s situation.

Accompanied by teammates Marc Cucurella and Joao Pedro, the Argentine was seen at the Madrid Open to support fellow countryman Francisco Cerúndolo.

Interestingly, Fernandez was approached by the Spanish media, including El Chiringuito, but he refused to even speak a word, which is a stark change from his recent antics.
