In the wake of Liam Rosenior’s departure, the Chelsea squad have signalled the kind of manager that they want to see come in next at Stamford Bridge.

Following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior, the Chelsea owners are on a process of self-reflection to rectify what is being internally acknowledged as a season of missteps. The sporting leadership team, led by Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, remains in place but has pivoted toward a more meticulous search for a successor with proven top-level experience.

After the issues we saw with Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella’s comments, it needs to be a manager that can demand the respect to get results.

However, with the Blues slipping down the table and there being no guarantees of a European place, it remains to be seen as to who would take the job.

The Guardian have reported that Chelsea’s players feel Liam Rosenior’s successor needs to be a big character who can command the respect of the dressing room and keep strong egos in line.

It seems as if the new ownership really lack the same kind of ruthlesness that we saw under Roman Abramovich. Never in a million years would they have hired an unknown manager like Liam Rosenior.

Jose Mourinho is a name that has been linked already ahead of the summer, but he could end up taking the Portugal or Real Madrid job instead.
