When Chelsea will announce Xabi Alonso as new manager after agreement reached

There has at least been one bit of good news for Chelsea supporters following their side’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City, and it involves Xabi Alonso!

Despite being a Liverpool legend, Chelsea fans have been clamouring for Alonso to become the club’s next manager, and it looks as though they are about to get their wish.

Following Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to City at Wembley, it emerged that Alonso has agreed to replace Liam Rosenior in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, an announcement could come within the next 24 hours!

The timing of it seems like a PR move from the club. Fans are furious with how BlueCo have been running things, with some supporters even holding a protest before the FA Cup final.

The Chelsea fan base is not happy with how it ended with Enzo Maresca, but everyone, including the players, must now move on.

After what he accomplished at Bayer Leverkusen, Alonso could be the perfect man to help this Chelsea team move forward. However, a lot will depend on what happens behind the scenes at Cobham and whether he can work within Chelsea’s sporting structure, which currently has five sporting directors.
