Daniel Sturridge predicts the winner of Chelsea vs Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League tonight
Daniel Sturridge has predicted on TikTok that Chelsea will get the better of Borussia Dortmund tonight in the Champions League and advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Blues need to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg if they are to keep their final hope of silverware or qualification for the next competition alive.
Graham Potter’s side produced a strong performance in Germany a few weeks ago, however ran into the familiar problem of not being able to find the net.
Joao Felix notably missed a great chance in the first leg, which came back to bite the Blues in the second half.
Karim Adeyemi scored a sensational breakaway goal to give them a narrow lead as we head to Stamford Bridge for the second leg.
Chelsea at least returned to winning ways ahead of this game. A change in system helped them to a 1-0 win over Leeds United.
It is likely that Potter elects to stick to that system, with it suiting a number of their stronger players better right now.
Sturridge predicts Chelsea to beat Dortmund
Former striker Sturridge has claimed the Blues will come out on top in a tough battle.
He said: “Chelsea vs Dortmund. Second leg. And we’re here at the iconic Stamford Bridge. We have Raheem Sterling, and we have Joao Felix and we have Mykhailo Mudryk.
“But on the other hand of that, Jude Bellingham, Sebastien Haller and Adeyemi.
“In the first game, Dortmund playing at home with their fans managed to win the game with a Karim Adeyemi goal of course, fantastic finish. Chelsea were very, very threatening on the counter attack, but now they’re playing at home. It’s a different ballgame.
“Chelsea have to win by two clear goals which is a big ask, but I’m going with Chelsea.”
Performances in this competition are all supporters have to be excited by this season, and a loss will surely make it hard for the owners to defend Potter much longer.
