What Jude Bellingham did when he saw Todd Boehly after Chelsea’s win over Dortmund last night
Journalist Carrie Brown has claimed that Jude Bellingham hugged and shook hands with both Todd Boehly and Graham Potter following Chelsea’s victory over Borussia Dortmund.
The teenager has been a reported long-term target of the club, especially since the American took over nearly a year ago.
Yesterday evening saw the Blues pull off their most impressive result of the season by far, as they defeated the Bundesliga leaders 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz, two players in desperate need of finding the net, were enough to overturn a first leg deficit and book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
This of course came at the expense of Bellingham’s side. The England international will perhaps feel he could’ve done more on the big stage last night.
Nevertheless, Brown has claimed he still showed grace when he left the field and met up with the Chelsea representatives after the game.
Bellingham polite to Boehly
She said: “Bellingham is an incredibly polite player and gave both Boehly and Potter a hug and a handshake when he left the tunnel.
“Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl reiterated to me tonight that the club will do all they can to keep him.”
The teenager is going to be the subject of a mega transfer saga this summer, with the majority of elite clubs in Europe looking to bring him in.
Chelsea are likely to return to the market in an attempt to find the perfect partner for current club-record signing Enzo Fernandez.
The former Benfica man was very impressive last night, making it consecutive appearances where the new system has seemed to bring out the best in him.
He will of course have the opportunity to likely feature alongside N’golo Kante when the quarter-finals come around in a few weeks’ time.
