Report: Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to sign two of Chelsea's top targets this summer

Reports have claimed that Mikel Arteta is keen for Arsenal to sign both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo in the summer.

According to The Times, the league leaders are confident that they can beat Chelsea to a deal, with the Blues linked with moves for both midfielders.

It is likely that the duo will both be on the move this summer, with their abilities certainly way ahead of the clubs they play for.

Rice in particular has been a long-term target of the majority of the Premier League’s top sides, although for now he has stayed loyal to West Ham United.

A lot had expected the Englishman to make the move to Stamford Bridge, especially with his friendship with Mason Mount well known.

However, there are reports stating that the 24-year-old could be on the move in the summer, something that seemed unimaginable just a year ago.

Arteta wants Rice and Caicedo

Reports have stated that the Chelsea owners are aware that the friendship of the duo could play a big part into the decision made by Rice as to which club he joins.

Both London clubs also made efforts to sign Caicedo last month, with them both having bids rejected by a stubborn Brighton side.

However, there is an acceptance that he will probably be on the move when this season comes to an end.

The Times have claimed that Arteta is hopeful that his side can beat the Blues to both deals.

There is a reason why he should feel confident that his side can achieve that. His top of the table side compared to the team lingering in 10th in the table.

It is likely though that Chelsea return to the transfer market in their attempts to find the perfect partner for Enzo Fernandez in the long term.
