‘Talks took place’: Chelsea are in talks with club over signing their £88m attacker this summer - journalist
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Chelsea have opened talks with Napoli over the potential signing of Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian has enjoyed an extremely successful season in Serie A, as his side close in on winning the league in dominant style.
Osimhen has 19 goals in 22 games in Italy, whilst he has also contributed a couple of goals in just four Champions League games.
In what has already been his most impressive season on a personal level, he has not been short of reported interest from the biggest clubs in the world.
Chelsea are one of those sides, with Plettenberg claiming that they are one of the clubs who have already held talks regarding signing him.
He said: “News on Osimhen: Massive season & focussed on the next step. Been told Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG and Manchester United. are all in! Different talks took place.

“Manchester City inquired although they have Haaland/Alvarez. No topic for Bayern. Transfer fee of at least €100m not feasible.”
The Blues will undoubtedly be on the lookout for a recognised striker this summer, as they still look for a long-term answer to their goalscoring woes.
Kai Havertz has recently scored in back-to-back games, however still faces questions about whether he can contribute in the long run.
Chelsea will have Christopher Nkunku joining them at the end of the season, with him set to instantly become an important member of the attack.
However, the France international has already personally claimed that he plays better working off a striker, a position the Blues are not short on.
Their options currently include Joao Felix, however there is no guarantee that he remains at the club beyond his loan spell this season.
