'I respect': Roberto De Zerbi talks up 'great' Chelsea man ahead of today's PL fixture with Brighton
Roberto De Zerbi has spoken very highly about Frank Lampard ahead of Chelsea against Brighton this afternoon.
Chelsea, who sit 11th in the Premier League table, go into Saturday’s fixture knowing their domestic season is fading out. However, the Blues players should be motivated given they face Real Madrid just a few days later in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Today could be a superb opportunity for some individuals to force their way into the XI for Tuesday’s second leg against Madrid, which they currently trail 2-0 on aggregate.
As for Brighton, they’re seventh in the league table and are firmly in the fix for a European finish this season.

De Zerbi, who’s doing a fantastic job as Brighton manager, has given big praise to his opposite number prior to the weekend’s fixture.
He’s spoken about his admiration for Frank Lampard as both a player and a manager.
“Against Wolves, Chelsea played 4-3-3 and then against Madrid they played with five defenders,” De Zerbi said, as quoted by Brighton’s official Twitter account.
“They have a great squad and could play with three first elevens. I respect Frank – he was a great player and is a great manager.”

Lampard’s only in his Chelsea role as caretaker manager until the end of the season, but he should see it as a lifeline to rebuild his reputation
It feels so vital for the Blues to try gain some kind of momentum later today to take into the Madrid contest.
It’s now four consecutive games without scoring for Chelsea, so that will be a good place to start.
Unfortunately, they’re running into a Brighton side playing some eye-catching attacking football under De Zerbi.
There is no doubt Brighton will fancy themselves to get a result at Stamford Bridge.
