‘Really good’: Frank Lampard very impressed by 43-year-old Chelsea reportedly want to make their manager
Frank Lampard has claimed that he has been very impressed this season by the impact of Roberto de Zerbi as Brighton manager.
He said in his pre-match press conference that the 43-year-old has built an extremely difficult team to beat ahead of their clash tomorrow afternoon.
De Zerbi has been one of the many candidates linked with the job as permanent Chelsea manager when the Englishman’s time as interim comes to an end.

The move would bring plenty of comparisons to the last decision made by the ownership when it came to appointing a new boss.
Todd Boehly then elected for Graham Potter, who was working similar miracles with the very same side before the offer came in to move to Stamford Bridge.
De Zerbi has been strongly linked with a move to a bigger side, with obvious vacancies at both Chelsea and Tottenham right now.
Lampard praises De Zerbi
Perhaps indirectly, Lampard has given a glowing review to the board of the abilities of the Italian ahead of the Premier League meeting tomorrow.
He said: “Really good. Certain style and identity. Worked with Graham there before, then he’s taken it on with his touches and stability. Really good team offensively and defensively. Very, very tough match. We’ll have to physically compete.”

It may be unlikely that Boehly again looks to the South Coast when looking to hire his next manager, due to the failure that eventually came of Potter’s reign in West London.
Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique seem to at this stage be the favourites for the role, with talks reportedly underway with both candidates.
The fact that the former Bayern Munich manager is seemingly waiting until the end of the season before taking his next job in the game suggests he may at this stage be the frontrunner.
