Roy Keane now shares his honest verdict on Chelsea putting Frank Lampard back in charge
Roy Keane has now wished Frank Lampard well after he was confirmed to be taking the manager’s job on a temporary basis at Chelsea.
He has however hinted to The Overlap that he is not particularly bothered or inspired by the decision made by the club to bring in the club legend at this stage.
The decision to sack Graham Potter as Blues manager was long overdue, with Todd Boehly doing his best to defend him at every juncture.

However, seeing the Blues drop into the bottom half of the table after a dismal run of form made it impossible for even the American to make a case anymore.
Lampard’s arrival at Stamford Bridge for his second tenure in charge was designed to bring some good feeling back to the club, ahead of a few crucial games that remain this season.
Keane not inspired by Lampard
It has certainly not had the desired effect so far. The Blues lost again in the Premier League to Wolves, before falling way short of the required standard against Real Madrid.
Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by the European Champions, and will actually be content with the result after Ben Chilwell’s red card.

The job looks incredibly tough for Lampard, and Keane has claimed that the managerial merry-go round that football has become is leaving him uninspired.
He said: “Good luck to him. It’s not football the way things have changed with the manager being under pressure now and a lot of clubs looking for managers until the end of the season. Good luck to him. I’m not bothered…”
Chelsea are currently assessing candidates for the permanent role that is certain to crop up at the end of the season. Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are the reported top targets.
