Chelsea now reportedly want to sign 30-year-old star who was left stunned by Enzo Fernandez
Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea are considering a move this summer for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
According to journalist Gaston Edul, the Blues are considering the 30-year-old as they seek to upgrade the goalkeeper position at Stamford Bridge.
The World Cup saw the best of Martinez, as he made a string of super saves, particularly from the penalty spot to help his country become champions.

His brilliance also saw his individual efforts recognised, as he picked up the prestigious award for goalkeeper of the tournament.
He was joined on the awards stage by Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, who picked up the award for the most impressive young player at the tournament.
The 22-year-old came in to the side after the first game of the World Cup, which turned out to be the only one his nation would lose.
Martinez a big Fernandez fan
Martinez was left stunned by how seamlessly the club-record signing settled in to proceedings in an Argentina midfield that was already very highly rated.
He said: “Enzo Fernandez is shameless!. He made the games with the national team his own and came into the World Cup as if he had already won 350 caps. He surprised me not only as a player but as a person.
“Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul and Gio Lo Celso had been playing well in midfield and were untouchable.

“Then we lost the first game when everyone was at a low level. Lionel Scaloni made a pair of changes and in came Enzo – a crack!”
A new goalkeeper should certainly be on the agenda at Stamford Bridge this summer, with there being plenty of questions surrounding the position this season.
It is expected that Edouard Mendy will be on the move this summer, and Kepa Arrizabalaga has not always been of the standard required at this level.
