‘He knows’: £33m Chelsea player now aware the club want to sell him this summer – journalist
Journalist Paul Brown has claimed that Hakim Ziyech is now aware that Chelsea want to sell him at the end of this season.
He told GiveMeSport that the Morocco international is fully aware that he doesn’t have a future at Stamford Bridge after joining in 2020.
It has been another tough season for Ziyech in terms of being a regular on the pitch for the Blues, and this has coincided with his lack of goals and assists despite being an attacker.
Ironically, a sensational free-kick after coming off the bench against Bournemouth set up Benoit Badiashile for his first goal for the club, giving the Blues a late lead in the process.
Despite being one of Frank Lampard’s first signings in his original spell in charge when he joined for £33m, the Englishman has not really looked to start him in the games since he has been back at Stamford Bridge.
Ziyech knows he’s up for sale
Brown has claimed now that he could be on the move at the end of the season, and he is already aware this is in the club’s interests.
He said: “I think a lot of players at Chelsea were already considering their future. There have been a couple that have been on the transfer list for some time and know it.
“They were available – people like Ziyech had been available for transfer. He nearly left but that broke down in mysterious circumstances.
“He knows he doesn’t really have a future at the moment at Chelsea. He’s not the only one. There are various others.”
Ziyech almost left the club in January, however a deadline day move to PSG fell through as the Blues focused on bringing in Enzo Fernandez for a club-record fee.
