Player Chelsea sold in 2021 could now achieve something no other footballer has in history

Tammy Abraham could now make footballing history at Roma as he continues to blossom away from Chelsea.

The Blues sold the England international to José Mourinho for a sum of £34m back in August 2021 after he fell out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.

Now – as Roma reach the UEFA Europa League final – Tammy Abraham could achieve something no other footballer has.

What’s the story?

Well, if the Roma No.9 helps Mourinho overcome Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League final, he will become the first footballer in history to win all four UEFA competitions.

As things stand, nobody has ever won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Conference League.

Abraham won the latter competition last term in his debut campaign at Roma, impressively scoring 27 goals across all competitions as the Italian giants recorded a 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the final.

Of course, the 25-year-old was also part of the Chelsea side who won the UEFA Champions League in 2021 following a 1-0 victory over Manchester City, which then led to a UEFA Super Cup clash against Villarreal, which the Blues won on penalties.

It would be quite the achievement for Abraham if he can defeat Sevilla and record a clean sweep of European titles, especially at the age of just 25.

In truth, you could even say the London-born striker has already won four UEFA competitions, as he lifted the UEFA Youth League on two occasions during his time at Cobham.

Chelsea could bring Tammy Abraham back

If Mauricio Pochettino wants a new striker when he eventually takes over from Frank Lampard, the Argentine could bring Abraham back to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have an exclusive buyback clause worth €80m (£71.3m) which becomes active this summer – according to Fabrizio Romano.

In our view, it is unlikely that Chelsea trigger this clause with plenty of forwards already at Stamford Bridge, while Romelu Lukaku is also set to return from his loan spell at Inter Milan.

Nevertheless, anything could happen in the transfer market this summer, and with the buyback clause active soon, the Blues could reunite with Abraham if they wanted to.
