Report: £298,000-a-week player has been offered to Chelsea, but there’s a problem

Joshua Kimmich has been linked with Chelsea, but it seems that the Blues could struggle to sign the defensive midfielder from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

According to 90min, Chelsea are among the clubs who have been offered the chance to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

The report has claimed that intermediaries have made contact with Chelsea and have told them that the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a full-back, is “unsettled and contemplating his options”.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester United have also been linked with the £298,000-a-week (SalarySport) Germany international midfielder.

Bayern Munich stance on Chelsea-linked Joshua Kimmich

However, according to German journalist Christian Falk, Bayern have no plans whatsoever to sell the star midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Falk wrote in CaughtOffSide: “Player sales could bring in money. But Barcelona’s interest in Joshua Kimmich is in vain. Bayern will not sell Kimmich.”

Summer transfer possible

In our view, Chelsea could be able to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Bayern do not want to sell the German, but money talks.

And there is no smoke without fire.

That Kimmich is not happy at Bayern could open the door for Chelsea to make their move.

Now, while Chelsea do have enough midfielders in their squad, the chance to sign a world-class player such as Kimmich is simply too good to pass.
