City manager Pep Guardiola personally wants to sign the former Real Madrid midfielder.
The report has added that Chelsea would look for £50 million in transfer fees to sell the 29-year-old Croatia international central midfielder.
Should Chelsea sell Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City?
In our view, Chelsea should think twice about selling Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City even for £50 million.
Yes, £50 million is a lot of money for a 29-year-old, but selling the former Madrid star to City would only enhance the quality of the Citizens.
If Guardiola personally wants Kovacic, then Chelsea have to take note.
After all, the former Barcelona head coach, who has just led City to their third Premier League title in a row, does not sign bad players.
