Report: What Newcastle are now saying about signing players from Chelsea this summer

Reports have claimed that Newcastle are now hesitant on signing any players from Chelsea this season.

According to the Telegraph, there is concern that the Blues will demand extortionate fees for any players they look to part ways with at the end of the season.

It is well-documented that the club are going to have to sell big this summer if they are going to spend again to try and return to the top of the table.

A number of names have already been linked with a move away from the club, with them unlikely to be playing a key role in the side going forwards.

However, one name who doesn’t fit this bill is Mason Mount, whose future is still very much in the air.

Despite being a two-time player of the season at Stamford Bridge, there is now a serious chance that he will be no longer at the club from this summer onwards.

Newcastle hesitant to buy from Chelsea

A number of other players have previously been linked with a move to St James’ Park, and a Newcastle side who are likely to be playing in the Champions League next season.

Conor Gallagher is one player who has been linked with a move up North, after he was nearly sold back in January.

Everton were the club interested then, with fees of around £45m being discussed.

However, reports now suggest Newcastle are going to be hesitant to go into business with the Blues due to fears they will be priced out of a move.

It is expected that it is going to be an early firesale at Stamford Bridge this summer, so it is going to be interesting to see how low they allow prices to get before accepting bids.
