Didier Drogba reacts on Instagram as Ruben Loftus-Cheek leaves Chelsea
Didier Drogba has posted a heartfelt response on Instagram after Ruben Loftus-Cheek completed his move away from Chelsea yesterday.
The Blues confirmed on Friday evening that Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who’s been with the club since the age of eight, has joined Italian giants AC Milan on a permanent transfer.
Loftus-Cheek has penned a four-year deal at the San Siro, with Chelsea and Milan agreeing a £15million deal for him (The Athletic).
The 27-year-old midfielder’s had some fantastic moments in the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge, but injuries and form have prevented him from really fulfilling his potential.
However, we’re excited to see what he can achieve in Milan colours as he enters the prime years of his career.

Chelsea legend Drogba has reacted to the Loftus-Cheek transfer news with an emotional message to his old teammate.
“All the best son for the next challenges ahead,” Drogba posted on his Instagram story.
The Blues icon tagged Loftus-Cheek, plus included a broken heart emoji and a blue heart emoji.

Don Hutchison claimed on Twitter this week that Loftus-Cheek’s transfer to AC Milan this summer is a “great move for him”. We would have to agree with that statement, too.
Loftus-Cheek proved his value in the Blues squad last season as a great versatile option. In fact, he’s one of the few players that came out of last year’s poor season in a positive light.
However, he’s now at an age where he should be focused on starting games every week, something which is not happening at Stamford Bridge.
Our guess is the powerhouse central midfielder will slot into the Milan line-up very easily.
