I love Chelsea: 23-year-old admits he loves being at Chelsea Mauricio Pochettino wants to keep him

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has claimed he loves being at the club after his first season with the first team.

He told Football Daily that he is looking to do whatever he can to bring the Blues back up near the top of the table next season.

While it was a dire campaign for the club, there will at least be some positives to be taken for Gallagher, who enjoyed his first full campaign as part of the first team.

He earned himself good minutes too, perhaps something which would be doubted when he came back from a successful loan at Crystal Palace.

Particularly under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, the England international has been trusted with plenty of appearances in the centre of midfield.

Gallagher loves playing for Chelsea

Reports have claimed that new manager Mauricio Pochettino has already told Gallagher that he wants him to stay at Stamford Bridge next season.

Now, the player himself has stated his desire to carry on at the club going into next season.

He said: “Of course I’m a Chelsea player. I love Chelsea. It’s been a really tough season for me and the whole team and the whole club at Chelsea.

“So I think we’ll just be working as hard as we can to try and get Chelsea back to where they belong.”

Despite his desire to remain at Stamford Bridge, the majority of the fanbase will perhaps be seeing things a different way.

With the club desperate to bring in funds this summer in order to spend again, it will be lost on no one the value they could potentially get for the 23-year-old, who was promoted through the academy.
