'I was told a week ago': Pochettino is now desperate for Chelsea to sign 23-year-old striker – journalist
Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed he has been told that Mauricio Pochettino is desperate for Chelsea to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer.
He told GiveMeSport that the new manager sees the 23-year-old as the perfect striker for how he wants to play his football in West London.
There have been long-term links between Chelsea and Vlahovic now as the Blues look ahead to making a big decision to try and solve their goalscoring woes.
It has been widely reported that the Blues are going to be signing a new number nine this summer, as they look to address the glaring issues in front of goal that helped see them finish 12th last season.
Galetti has claimed that Pochettino already has his idea on who he wants to bring in to fill the position next season, with it being Vlahovic he is desperate to bring in.
Pochettino desperate for Vlahovic
He said: “I was told a week ago Pochettino wants him, considering him the ideal striker for his tactical idea, however, the Blues have to pay attention to the competition.
“Bayern Munich in fact are increasing the pressure on Dusan, targeted as their priority to strengthen the attack. Anyway, in general, Dusan would like to leave Juventus after this last difficult season, and that’s why an original agreement on personal terms we deem shouldn’t be so difficult.”
There are a number of other names being shortlisted as potential targets, with Victor Osimhen the clear dream addition.
His goals recently fired Napoli to Serie A glory, however this could end up being the end of his time there as the top European clubs begin to circle around a potential signing.
However, their quest may be affected by the fact they cannot yet offer any European football to the striker.
