Mason Mount sends one word to Declan Rice on Instagram after he wins the UEFA Conference League title

Chelsea No.19 Mason Mount has now sent one word to Declan Rice on Instagram after the West Ham No.41 won the UEFA Conference League.

The England international captained the Hammers to their first major trophy in 40 years with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Wednesday night.

Now – after West Ham’s European success – Mason Mount has sent a message to Declan Rice.

What’s the story?

Well – as you might know – the pair became friends in Chelsea’s academy before Rice was released and joined West Ham at the age of 14.

Now – however – the West Ham skipper has followed in Mount’s footsteps by picking up silverware on the European stage.

After Rice captained West Ham to glory, Mount wrote “yessir!” in the comments section of his post on Instagram.

You can see the post below.

John Terry also made an appearance in the comments section, writing “congratulations” to Rice along with an emoji of a trophy.

Declan Rice success dents Chelsea hopes of signing him

In our view, West Ham’s UEFA Conference League win will make it harder for Chelsea to sign Rice.

According to the Guardian, the 24-year-old is a target for the Blues, with 90min adding that Mauricio Pochettino views him as a major upgrade on his current midfield options.

Rice is also wanted by Arsenal, while Thomas Tuchel holds an interest in bringing the London-born midfielder to Bayern Munich this summer ahead of the German’s old side Chelsea.

However, West Ham’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina has secured UEFA Europa League football for next season, a campaign in which Chelsea will have no European football to offer their targets.

Therefore, we feel a move for Rice has just become even harder than it would have been had he not qualified for the UEFA Europa League – only time will tell what happens for sure.
