Report: £12m player Chelsea got rid of in January could already be sold by his new club this summer
Arsenal could look to sell Jorginho this summer, just months after his exit from Chelsea.
That is according to 90min.
They claim that Arsenal are prepared to listen to offers for Jorginho in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is understood that the Gunners are not actively looking to sell the 31-year-old midfielder, but they wouldn’t stand in his way if he’s got the chance to return to Italy.
Apparently, Serie A clubs Lazio, Napoli and AC Milan are interested in him.
Chelsea sold Jorginho to rivals Arsenal mid-season back in January, with a £12million deal enough to see the Italian move to the Emirates Stadium.
The deep-lying midfielder has performed well as an experienced individual walking into a new group pushing for the Premier League title, which ultimately proved a step too far for them against the imperious Manchester City.
We felt a bit of unrest from Chelsea supporters about selling a first-team star to a main rival earlier this year.
Perhaps the critics may rest a little easier knowing that Jorginho’s time in north London could be over in such a short space of time.
Incidentally, The Athletic previously claimed that Jorginho’s departure did cause some unrest in the Chelsea dressing room at the time.
Chelsea fans can move on from Jorginho now and look forward to the midfield rebuild that is taking place at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Fernandez is already a key figure in the centre of the park for the Blues, but it looks like we need some new arrivals this summer to complete the jigsaw.
Jorginho wasn’t always everyone’s cup of tea because of a lack of ability. His experience and calmness shined through on many occasions, though.
