Report: Chelsea now dreaming of hijacking Manchester United’s move for the ‘best defender in the world’
Reports have claimed that Chelsea are now dreaming of making the signing of Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae this summer.
According to Foot Mercato, the Blues are one of a number of sides who are looking to hijack Manchester United’s move for the South Korean in the upcoming window.
Kim Min-Jae was one of the most impressive members of a Napoli side who were recently crowned Serie A champions.

Italian journalists were not privy to his displays, with them referring to him as the ‘best defender in the world’ as a result of how impressive he has been.
His performances were on par with the likes of Victor Osimhen, who has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge himself as the Blues look to put an end to their goalscoring woes.
While it doesn’t seem right now that a centre-back needs to be on the agenda for the Blues, that may all change depending on the future of Levi Colwill.
Chelsea dreaming of Kim Min-Jae
Reports have claimed that Chelsea are desperate to keep hold of the youngster after his extremely impressive loan spell with Brighton, and this desire is apparently matched by the new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However, their own efforts to sign Seagulls midfielder Moises Caicedo have so far been met with the other party wanting a deal that includes Colwill going the other way.
This could see them forced to dip back into the market for a defender, with it now being claimed that Kim Min-Jae could be one of the names they are targeting.

United are seemingly the heavy favourites for the deal, with Erik ten Hag looking to build on a promising first season in England.
He is also trying to do this with the addition of Mason Mount, who looks set to leave Stamford Bridge with a year left on his contract.
While personal terms have been agreed, there is still some difference between the transfer fees the two sides deem fair.
