Report: Chelsea now looking at signing £40m midfielder who's just been relegated, Guardiola really likes him
Reports have claimed that Chelsea will now turn their attention to signing Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer.
According to TalkSPORT, the Blues will look at the former Premier League star after seemingly pulling out of the race to sign Manuel Ugarte.
It was a breakout season on an individual level for Lavia, who was one of the shining lights for Southampton in a campaign where they finished bottom of the league.

This did not see the Belgian avoid his praise though. He first rose to the top of the scene after an inspired performance against Chelsea right at the start of the campaign.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has led the praise for him over the last 12 months, with him being a product of their academy that has begun to impress in recent years.
Chelsea want Lavia
It has previously been claimed that Lavia may cost the Blues around £40m, however they may look to make the most of his club’s recent relegation to try and get a deal done for less.
The report has claimed that the club are now looking to other options after it looks as if they are going to miss out on the signing of Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon.

It seemed as if Chelsea were favourites to pull off a deal ahead of PSG, after the player’s preference looked to be the Premier League side despite the lack of Champions League football on offer for next season.
However, it has now been claimed that the French champions have massively upped their offer to the player, leaving the Blues to make the decision that they would pursue other candidates.
Another player to keep an eye on is Moises Caicedo, who the Blues had a bid rejected for back in January.
