Report: Mauricio Pochettino has convinced Chelsea to offer £85m for ‘outstanding’ midfielder this summer
Reports from Spain have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde to Chelsea.
According to SPORT, the new manager has convinced the club to offer up to £85m to bring in the Uruguayan this summer.
The last couple of campaigns have seen Valverde establish himself as one of the most promising players in world football, whilst also being one of the stars of today.

He set up Vincius Jr’s winning goal in the Champions League final last season, and his performances in Europe in particular have caught the eye.
Joe Cole described him as ‘outstanding’ after watching him recently.
A number of reports recently have announced which players the new manager is looking to bring to Stamford Bridge when his tenure officially gets underway this summer.
Pochettino wants Valverde
It has now been claimed that one of those players is the Madrid man, and his interest in the signing has reportedly put the La Liga side on notice.
However, the report goes on to say that they deem the player untouchable, and will not consider any offers from the Blues.
A midfielder is certainly high on the agenda at Stamford Bridge this summer. They currently face the prospect of losing both Mateo Kovacic and N’golo Kante this summer.

One player they have been strongly linked to is Manuel Ugarte, with Pochettino himself leading the club’s interest in a deal.
However, that process has recently hit a stumbling block in the face of the wage offer they have made to the midfielder.
PSG, who are also keen to sign Ugarte, have reportedly offered far more than the Blues as part of their offer, and leave him a big decision to make in terms of his future.
