Report: Mauricio Pochettino left very impressed after what Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk has just done

Reports have claimed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been left very impressed by a decision recently made by winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

According to The Telegraph, the new man in charge has been pleased at the player’s decision to reportedly make himself available for Ukraine’s U21 side this summer in order to improve his game.

Despite arriving with plenty of fanfare back in January, it was a difficult opening few months at Stamford Bridge for Mudryk.

Coming into a side who were free falling down the table will certainly not have helped, however he certainly didn’t do enough to make himself a player who had to be starting every single game at Stamford Bridge.

There were certainly some bright displays, and these normally came in games he was playing from the beginning. He was the best player for the home team when they were defeated by an impressive Brighton side last season.

However, he will know better than anyone how much he needs to improve if he is to be a star in the Chelsea side under Pochettino.

Many supporters are hoping the former Tottenham boss can have a similar impact on the 22-year-old that he did with Heung-Min Son when the pair worked together in North London.

His coaching helped turn the South Korean into one of the best players in the league, who just a couple years ago ended the campaign as the top goalscorer.

While he will not be getting the same break as others if he does compete in the U21 European Championships, Mudryk certainly looked a player who was suffering from not playing a lot of football, and therefore unable to get his form to where he will have wanted it to be.
