Report: Todd Boehly has just helped Chelsea complete a transfer for 38m less than release clause
Reports have claimed that Todd Boehly has just helped Chelsea complete a transfer for much cheaper than he potentially could have.
According to The Athletic, a deal for Angelo Gabriel has been agreed for a fee which is around £38m less than the player’s release clause.
Boehly has been keen to ensure a number of young stars have come through the door since he took over the club a year ago.

One of the highlight additions up to now has been Andrey Santos, who some at the club think was a better coup than even Enzo Fernandez back in January.
There are already reported plans for him to be involved in first team training next season, with him challenging the starting midfield.
Boehly signed Gabriel cheap
The American has kept that mantra up this summer, already making the highlight addition of Kendry Paez.
Now, he has added the exciting Santos player Gabriel to his collection, and saved plenty of money from what he could’ve potentially been paying.
Money is a topic of discussion this summer as the club want to continue spending big in an attempt to back new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

There will also need to be reinforcements made to see them return to where they believe they belong – near the top of the Premier League.
A big fee has already been paid to secure Christopher Nkunku’s services, however this was actually agreed some time ago.
While supporters will no doubt be excited to hear of the promising young talent that is joining the club with the intention of starring in the future, they will be hoping that it doesn’t come at the expense of strengthening their current squad.
