What Jose Mourinho did after losing Europa League final last night, he did exactly the same at Chelsea

Jose Mourinho recreated one of his most famous moments from being Chelsea manager last night when his Roma side were beaten in the Europa League final.

Captured by TalkSPORT, the former Blues man threw his runners up medal into the crowd after defeat on penalties to Sevilla.

Fellow former Chelsea man Tammy Abraham had the opportunity to become the first player to win all three European competitions, but it wasn’t to be in Budapest.

Clearly unhappy with not being able to get over the line, Mourinho threw his medal into the crowd as the night turned to morning across Europe.

Chelsea fans will be more than familiar with this gesture, going back nearly 20 years to the Portugal man’s first tenure at Stamford Bridge.

After the club won their second Premier League title in a row, the popular figure threw what everyone thought was his own winners medal deep into the crowd.

It emerged later that this apparently wasn’t actually the manager’s own medal, however instead the one that was due to defender Robert Huth.

The German was looking to force through a move away from the club at the time, and therefore wasn’t in the manager’s good books.

Reports claimed in recent months that the club were actually considering bringing back Mourinho when they were looking at who to bring in following the sacking of Graham Potter.

A number of candidates were considered for the role, as the owners ensured they went through a lengthy process in an attempt to avoid any of the mistakes they made this season.
