‘Definitely’: £35m player is absolutely interested in joining Chelsea this summer – journalist
Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is definitely interested in a move to Chelsea this summer.
He told GiveMeSport that a move to a top team in the Premier League suits the ambitions of the Frenchman for where his career is right now.
Reports broke over the last few days that the Blues were interested in a deal for Olise this summer, alongside recent treble winners Manchester City.
However, it is believed Chelsea hold a far greater interest, and have considered activating his release clause believed to be worth £35m.
It has even been claimed that manager Mauricio Pochettino has personally been in contact with Olise to inform him of his admiration of him.
Jones has now claimed that he believes the player would very much be interested in the move if it comes to fruition this summer.
Olise interested in Chelsea move
He said: “One thing I do know about Olise is that his ambition in the game would definitely mean he is interested in a move like this, but of course he is also being linked with other big clubs and for him this is a fantastic moment.”
The Blues look as if they are hoping to sign one more attacker this summer in order to get their squad in the perfect place for the Premier League opener against Liverpool next month.
They have also been linked with a move for Ajax man Mohammed Kudus, with personal terms currently believed to not be an issue that needs sorting.
These pursuits have gone alongside the club’s ambition to bring in another centre midfielder, something that has been echoed by the manager as a demand.
They are reportedly favouring a move for Moises Caicedo, however negotiations have hit a wall at this stage.
