‘Disbelief’: Premier League star cannot believe he hasn't moved to Chelsea yet - journalist

Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo cannot believe that he is not a Chelsea player right now.

He took to Twitter to claim that the player’s camp are now considering their position after not being allowed to leave up to this point.

Caicedo is reportedly fully committed now on moving to Stamford Bridge this summer, although the clubs have hit a wall when it comes to negotiations.

It is deemed that the club believe the Ecuadorian is the perfect partner for Enzo Fernandez.

The Argentine was their record addition, however a similar price will reportedly be required if they are to sign Caicedo this summer.

Jacobs has claimed that the player is struggling to work out why he has not been allowed the opportunity to move at this stage.

He said: “Chelsea’s latest £80m bid for Moises Caicedo has been rejected, as Fabrizio Romano called.

“Caicedo camp now considering their position. There remains a sense of disbelief that a club-record transfer sale fee hasn’t been accepted, especially now Chelsea have gone up to £80m.

“Throughout this saga, those close to Caicedo have seen no merit in putting in a transfer request to date. He has privately told senior members of the club hierarchy he wants the move, though.

“Obviously from Brighton’s point of view, and regardless of a club-record sale bid, they simply believe Caicedo’s value hasn’t been met. That’s why Roberto De Zerbi has said consistently he’s planning with Caicedo until Tony Bloom tells him otherwise.”

It is yet to be seen if the Blues make another effort to sign Caicedo, after a fourth bid was rejected.

Reports have claimed they are ready to now hijack Liverpool’s move for Romeo Lavia from Southampton.
