'Furious': Journalist shares why Mauricio Pochettino was raging at half-time during Chelsea vs Wrexham
Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was left furious at half-time of Chelsea’s win over Wrexham last night.
He took to Twitter to confirm he was on the pitch to confront the referee after the first half was brought to an end with his side on the attack.
There was plenty to smile about for Pochettino last night as he took charge of his first game since becoming the new Chelsea boss.
Coming up against an up-and-coming Wrexham side, the Argentine picked a team with an average age of just 19 as he set his youngsters a challenge to impress.
They certainly succeeded in this, and Chelsea ran out 5-0 winners thanks to some particularly impressive individual performances.
Pochettino fuming at referee
Pundit Jason Cundy was particularly impressed by the display of Cesare Casadei in his first appearance for the first team. He enjoyed a particularly fruitful summer with the youth team at Italy.
Meanwhile, the boss himself has stressed that he has been personally impressed by Andrey Santos, with many at the club hoping for big things from him in the coming years.
However, it wasn’t all smiles from Pochettino, with Kinsella claiming he was furious with the referee for when he brought the first half to a close.
He said: “Pochettino is furious at the referee after he blew the whistle for half-time while Chelsea were on the break. He said this is no friendly for him in the press conference and he is proving it now in front of his squad.”
While there are certainly bigger tests that face the Blues this summer before their Premier League curtain-raiser, they couldn’t of got off to a better start than they did yesterday over in America.
