Jude Bellingham reacts with two words after Mason Mount joins Manchester United
Jude Bellingham has congratulated Mason Mount after he completed his transfer this week from Chelsea to Manchester United.
Mason Mount, who’s now officially a Man United player, has ended his 18-year association with Chelsea.
The 24-year-old playmaker has been one of the biggest success stories to come out of the Blues academy at Cobham, but he’s now continuing his football journey in Manchester at Old Trafford.
Mount uploaded a message on Instagram yesterday discussing him taking the iconic No 7 shirt at Man United.
He wrote: “I know the history and understand the responsibility that comes with this shirt. The most important thing for me is to gain your trust and I will work hard to do that. I won’t let you down Reds!”
Bellingham, who will know exactly what Mount is going through this summer, has sent him two words of encouragement in the comment section of the post.
If you think Mount taking on the No 7 shirt is a big responsibility, Bellingham may be going one step further with his decision this summer.
The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund this summer. He’s certainly raised a few eyebrows by taking the No 5 kit made famous by the legendary Zinedine Zidane, too.
England manager Gareth Southgate will hope to see Mount and Bellingham settle quickly at their respective new clubs.
The Athletic reports that Man United feel they’ve done a great piece of business in signing Mount for an transfer initial fee of £55million.
It’s certainly going to be interesting to see if he justifies that price tag.
He’s been used to responsibility and pressure in recent years for Chelsea, but he’s walking into a colossus club the size of Man United where there will be further expectation.
