Plot twist: Chelsea may now use Christian Pulisic in order to sign very talented 19-year-old - journalist

Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Chelsea have the opportunity to use Christian Pulisic as a make-weight for them to sign Rayan Cherki.

He told GiveMeSport that the interest in the American from Lyon could assist them in their attempts to bring in the Frenchman this summer.

The U21 Euros have been a great platform for Cherki to show off on a continental stage just how promising his career is.

Even though his tournament came to an end at the hands of Mykhailo Mudryk and Ukraine, he still found the net as he opened the scoring in that quarter-final game.

With many still not convinced by the attackers available for Mauricio Pochettino going into next season, there will be plenty who are hoping that another exciting name or two come through the door, and Cherki certainly fits this bill.

Chelsea could use Pulisic for Cherki

Jones has claimed there is still a world where this happens, with the potential being Pulisic going the other way.

He said: “He’s right on the money when it comes to fitting Chelsea’s profiling and he is a great player, but what makes this one more interesting is that Lyon are open-minded about offers.

“And a plot twist to the Cherki interest now is that Lyon are currently making a play for Christian Pulisic, and their offer was pretty decent for him, so the conversations between the clubs are already open and the relations seem good so far.”

Pulisic is likely to be on the move after a number of seasons where he has struggled for a place in the first team.

He reportedly prefers a move to AC Milan, however the fee they are offering is currently way less than the Ligue 1 side.
