Report: Chelsea player Pochettino admires now hoping to feature for first time in final pre-season friendly
Reports have claimed that Chelsea striker Armando Broja is now hoping to make his first appearance of pre-season in the final game of the tour of the United States.
According to the Evening Standard though, medical staff are taking every precaution to ensure he doesn’t get reinjured ahead of the new season.
Despite all the good vibes that have surrounded the Blues on tour of the United States, Broja has been unable to get involved up to now.
He has not currently been seen on the tour, as he continues his personal rehabilitation from what was a serious knee injury suffered back in December.
The issue ended his season there and then, with it being his first campaign as a Chelsea first team player.
Broja pushing for Chelsea return
Now, he has been forced to watch a number of new faces come through the door with the intention of playing in a central attacking role next season.
One of these has been Nicolas Jackson, who arrived with very little fanfare following his move from Villarreal.
However, he has been arguably the most impressive member of the squad in pre-season. He has so far scored twice and assisted three others in just over 100 minutes of football.
The Albanian will no doubt be keen to get involved in things, and is reportedly targeting a return ahead of the final friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
With that being the last game the Blues will play before the Premier League campaign gets underway, it will be the last opportunity for any fringe players to prove themselves to Mauricio Pochettino.
It may take a few weeks of the season before we see Broja fit and firing again at Stamford Bridge.
