'Wanted': Mystery PL club have now asked to sign 'special' Chelsea player on loan - Romano
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a mystery Premier League club have now asked about signing midfielder Andrey Santos on loan this summer.
He took to YouTube to state that the talented youngster is currently wanted by at least seven clubs as Chelsea consider their options.
Santos played a key part in the Blues’ three Premier League Summer Series games over in the United States, with them yesterday being crowned champions.
He started alongside Enzo Fernandez in what could be a midfield Chelsea fans will be getting used to in the coming years, with them doing the damage in the first half on route to a 2-0 win over Fulham.
With midfield options a bit limited at the moment, the pre-season tour has been a big opportunity for him to prove that he is closer to the first team quality than many had expected.
Some staff at the club are even of the belief that the player is ‘special’.
Santos wanted by PL club
There has been plenty of talk of a top loan deal for him this season, in order for him to get regular minutes somewhere ahead of breaking in at Chelsea.
However, Romano has said that despite an offer from a Premier League side, Mauricio Pochettino is now considering keeping him for the upcoming season.
He said: “Andrey Santos is wanted by at least seven clubs. A Premier League team asked about him on loan, it was not a big team, but Chelsea at the moment are very happy.
“Pochettino is impressed, also in training. Santos has a real chance to stay, decided in the next days.”
The Blues are still reportedly keen to add another midfielder to their ranks this summer, with Moises Caicedo talks refusing to go away.
However, negotiations appear to have hit a wall for now over the Ecuador international.
