Gary Neville predicts where he thinks Chelsea will finish in the Premier League this season
Gary Neville has claimed that he thinks Chelsea are going to finish in the top four again this season.
He told ‘The Overlap’ that he believes they will finish above the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham and qualify for the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino is now looking to build on what was a pretty dire campaign as far Chelsea are concerned compared to their usual standards.
They finished last season in 12th, having four managers take charge of games as the Graham Potter project failed.
Neville has already claimed that he is really excited by the prospects of the Blues under the Argentine, and his ability to work alongside young players is something which certainly puts him in good stead.
Now, the former Manchester United man has claimed that he thinks the Blues could even finish in the top four this season.
Neville predicts top four for Chelsea
He said: “Just because of the three thing and never winning a fourth I am going to go Arsenal to win the league, City second. I think Arsenal can beat them.
“I think Arsenal, City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Villa. Newcastle and Tottenham. I think Newcastle and Tottenham, I think Newcastle Champions League and Tottenham, I’m not quite sure what is going on there.”
The opening game of the season is likely to be a big test of where Chelsea are at going into the new season, as they take on a Liverpool side who are also chasing a place in the top four.
The Blues already know they will be without new signing Christopher Nkunku, after he picked up an injury in the final pre-season friendly.
With him being the top scorer of the tour of the United States, he will be a major miss for however long he’s out.
