'I happen to know': Mauricio Pochettino really won't want Chelsea to sign 'world class' player – journalist
Journalist Darren Lewis has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is not going to be a fan of any attempts by Chelsea to sign Neymar this summer.
He told TalkSPORT that he believes the ego and the age of the player make him an unattractive prospect for the new manager.
Pochettino has ensured the feel-good factor has somewhat returned to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season, after their pre-season tour of the United States.
He led the Blues to an unbeaten spell in America, something they have not achieved since 2011.
However, it seems to be that they are not fully settled with their attacking options going into the next campaign, and now a new name has been added to the potential candidates.
Neymar is reportedly looking for a new challenge from PSG, and it has been claimed that any contact with Chelsea has not stopped between the two parties.
Pochettino wont want Neymar
The Brazil international has obviously had a sensational career up to now, and is known as a ‘world-class’ player by the likes of Lionel Messi.
Lewis has now claimed though that his addition at Stamford Bridge will not be something that would go down well with Pochettino.
He said: “What I happen to know is that Neymar is not a Mauricio Pochettino player, at all. He’s too old, he’s got a big ego, however talented he might be. Pochettino likes to work with younger players.”
The duo has previously worked together at PSG, although it seems as if that relationship is not likely to reform.
It also seems unlikely that the Blues are going to bring in his current teammate in France, Kylian Mbappe, despite the forward currently looking for a way out of his side.
