'He did great today': Conor Gallagher says 22-year-old Chelsea player was absolutely 'brilliant' vs Liverpool
Conor Gallagher has claimed that he was very impressed yesterday by the performance of Enzo Fernandez against Liverpool.
He told the official club website that he believes he works well alongside the 22-year-old in the current Blues team.
Gallagher started next to Fernandez in a pivot midfield, however the plan was clear from the start to get the World Cup winner to play a far more advanced role than he was given licence to last season.

This decision, whether it was made by Mauricio Pochettino or someone else, looks like it could prove to be one of the best ones they make this season.
He proved exactly why Chelsea spent as much money as they did on him as he put in a player of the match performance up against Liverpool’s new-look midfield of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.
Gallagher praises Fernandez
While perhaps not as glamorous as Fernandez alongside him, Gallagher also had an extremely effective game playing at times as the deepest of the Chelsea midfielders.
He recovered possession a massive 10 times, more than anyone else on the pitch.
He has now claimed that he thought Fernandez put in a superb performance at Stamford Bridge against a very strong opposition.

He said: “Enzo is brilliant and he has wanted to get forward more which he did today. We work well [together] and can switch — if I go forward he can stay, if he goes forward I stay. He did great today.”
It remains to be seen how much of an impact Gallagher will have at the club this season, with the Blues about to announce their next new signing.
After a gruelling saga, they have now reportedly agreed a fee with Brighton to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo.
