Report: 24-year-old player is now expected to be Mauricio Pochettino's next signing at Chelsea

Reports have claimed that Tyler Adams is now expected to be the next signing to join Chelsea this summer.

According to The Mail’s Transfer Confidential newsletter, the 24-year-old is now expected to be the next name through the door as Mauricio Pochettino continues to strengthen his side.

It was claimed in the last week or so that Chelsea were considering bringing in Adams as another option to strengthen their depth in midfield ahead of the upcoming season.

The position is certainly one they have looked to address, however have struggled to do so in the form of real first team options.

Their summer has been dominated by a pursuit for Moises Caicedo from Brighton, with them needing to go close to a club-record if they are to complete a deal this summer.

Adams to be next signing

With their struggles in these negotiations, a number of other names were released as players they could now bring in to make sure they have some depth in the middle of the park.

One of them emerged to be Adams, and the release clause involved with his relegation last season as part of the Leeds squad makes him a very attractive proposition.

Now, it is predicted that he will be the next name through the door, with a number of players still strongly linked to move before September comes around.

The Blues are reportedly looking to strengthen their attack too before the campaign gets underway, and they are looking at both strikers and wingers to try and do this.

Talk of a deal to bring in Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus has not disappeared, and the opportunity to get rid of Romelu Lukaku in exchange is one they are really considering.
