Report: How Southampton have reacted to Chelsea making a huge bid to sign Romeo Lavia
Reports have claimed that Southampton are yet to decide whether they will accept or decline Chelsea’s recent offer for Romeo Lavia.
According to The Telegraph, the Saints are hoping to receive the £50m asking price they have already set for the player.
It has been widely expected over the last few weeks that a deal for Liverpool to sign Lavia would be reached after negotiations between those clubs has continued.

The Reds, who will travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for their first Premier League game of the season, were reportedly very close to the asking price set by the Championship side for his services.
However, late last night news broke that Chelsea had made a sensational offer to sign the youngster. The bid is said to have topped any offer made up to this point by Liverpool.
Southampton yet to accept or reject Lavia bid
The Blues have been frustrated in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo, with Brighton sticking firm to their valuation of the player despite his desire to move to West London.
It may be that they are now moving on to another target, accepting defeat in that particular transfer.

However, it is equally believable that the Blues are looking to sign both top-class midfielders this summer, as they look to reinforce a position which has been short of players during the pre-season tour of the United States.
Today will surely be a big day in the future of Lavia, with his personal preference of where to play his football also currently unknown.
It would be expected that Liverpool, given that the Saint is their only current reported target to fill a position that desperately needs reinforcing, will react to this news if they can with a bid that exceeds what Chelsea have put in.
