Report: West Ham still interested in signing 21-year-old Chelsea player, loan with option to buy
Reports have claimed that West Ham United believe they have a chance of signing Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen this summer.
According to The Guardian, the Premier League side believe they have a chance of striking a loan deal, which may involve an option to buy.
In what was a very strong pre-season for the Blues, one of the most surprising impressive players has been Maatsen.

Straight away, his impact was notable, as he struck twice in the first friendly against Wrexham.
As Chelsea ended the tour of the United States unbeaten, the Dutchman continued to impress in a position many didn’t think they would see him.
After featuring as a left-back for the majority of his career, he has found himself playing anywhere in the attack behind the striker under Mauricio Pochettino.
West Ham want Maatsen
However, there have been reports that his time at the club is not confirmed to extend, even if it is believed that there are plans to offer him a new contract.
West Ham are making a late effort to bolster their squad just days before the season gets underway.
They are yet to actually make a signing this summer, however are close to announcing a deal to sign former Chelsea target Edson Alvarez to replace Declan Rice.

Their efforts to sign have seen them keen to get involved in the perceived fire sale at Stamford Bridge too.
A very tempting bid came in for Conor Gallagher, however the Blues refused to sell in the end off the back of their poor depth in midfield.
They are also reportedly hoping for a deal to come to fruition for Armando Broja, who could be out of favour if Chelsea confirm the addition of Dusan Vlahovic.
