Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea supporters could be in for a big shock in the final few days of the transfer window.
He claimed on the ‘Here We Go’ podcast that the next signing the Blues make is likely to be the biggest surprise they have pulled off all summer.
It is expected that Chelsea are going to make at least one more addition before Friday’s deadline of this mental transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino has hinted in interviews and press conferences that he is hoping the club can bring in another attacking profile to help bolster his options across the frontline.
He will have been expecting to have Christopher Nkunku available after he was brought in early in the window. However, he picked up an injury during pre-season.
Chelsea fans set for shock
The Frenchman is now not likely to play this year for them, and this is one of the main reasons why they are returning into the market.
Romano claimed yesterday that the club were considering as many as ten players at this stage for the signing.
Now, he has gone on to say that the final decision could end up being a huge shock for Chelsea fans.
He said: “I think this will be the biggest surprise of the window in the final days. The owners and the directors were together today at Cobham to decide the right player, They’re discussing many players and are trying to be secret about it!”
Today, the likes of Ansu Fati have been reported to be near the top of the list of players they are considering.
However, they have also been linked with the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Raphinha as the window approaches its final days.
