‘Final stages’: Fabrizio Romano says PL club are about to sign £120k-a-week Chelsea player

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Nottingham Forest are closing in on an agreement with Chelsea to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi.

He took to Twitter to state that details would be clarified today that would finally allow the England international to leave Stamford Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi was loaned out to the Bundesliga last season in an attempt to find the form he once showed when he broke through.

However, he struggled to remain in the starting side for the second half of the campaign, and therefore even saw him sent home a few days early from his loan.

When pre-season began for the Blues, it became clearer that he was not going to be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans this season.

He was not part of the young squad who originally travelled to the United States, as the Argentine got a look at his entire squad.

Now, it has been claimed that the pair haven’t actually spoken yet regarding a potential return to the squad.

Hudson-Odoi set for Chelsea exit

Romano has stated that he is finally closing in on a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge, with Forest being the side who are now approaching a deal.

He said: “Understand Nottingham Forest are now closing in on Callum Hudson-Odoi deal. Negotiations moving to final stages with Chelsea.

“Talks underway, details to be clarified today but CHO could join Forest soon.”

The Blues have undergone mass change this summer after what will go down as one of the worst seasons in recent memory.

This has included a number of homegrown talents like Mason Mount and Lewis Hall departing, and that may not be all yet.

There is talk that Trevoh Chalobah could be joining them in the coming days, with Bayern Munich particularly interested in a deal.
